Big Apple Smoothie Café was created by Jim Demetros fueled by his passion for eating healthy while traveling on business across the United States. Although he understood how important eating healthy and exercising was to keep pace with his lifestyle, maintaining this balance while traveling was not easy. He quickly realized a truly healthy meal or snack is often sacrificed due to time constraints with hectic schedules.

In August, 2002 the first Big Apple Smoothie Café was opened in downtown White Plains, NY. Jim knew there was significant demand for healthier meal alternatives that wasn’t being filled by other cafés or fast-food chains in the area. He quickly learned consumers like choices, especially in the Northeast where as the season’s change, so do consumer palates. Big Apple Smoothie Café is an active participant and supporter of the White Plains, NY Business Improvement District.  

Big Apple Smoothie Cafe offers an outstanding selection of healthy food offerings (wraps, sandwiches, salads and soups) along with over fifty fresh fruit smoothies and juices prepared quickly and made fresh-to-order by our staff in an inviting upscale and unique atmosphere.

A smoothie for breakfast helps you get hydrated at the start of the day. Since your body pulls water from many foods in order to stay hydrated, you won’t have to drink water when you’re sipping on a smoothie. Milk and yogurt are largely water, so if your smoothie is dairy-based, you’ll quench your thirst.
